Our grillmaster Lenny has officially condemned the club BBQ as a safety hazard, meaning the grill is offline. So we thought why not celebrate the evening Wimbledon style. Dust off your crispest tennis whites and come ready to celebrate proper British tradition. I’ll be playing cameraman for the evening to capture everyone looking the part, and we’ll have a classic wooden racquet on hand for some vintage photo ops. Feel free to show off your own wooden racquet if you still have one.
We also thought about serving some traditional British delicacies to match the theme—but honestly, we couldn't resist a good Italian feast instead. We’re bringing in a spread of pasta dishes and lasagna from
Rocco’s, alongside a fresh salad. Though, because we aren't total heathens, we will still have the mandatory strawberries and cream for dessert.
This is a club-sponsored event, so just bring your appetite, your beverage, your place settings, and enjoy the evening on us. Please sign up online by Friday evening so we can give Rocco’s a rough headcount for the pasta. That said, if your plans change last minute, don't sweat it—you’re always welcome to just show up.
Early Tennis & Evening Board Games:
If you want to work up an appetite first, come out early around 4:45 PM for some fun social tennis matches before we eat. The weather is looking beautiful for some tennis games. Feel free to toss some board games in your bag if you’re down for some post-tennis strategy and laughs.
Date and time: 4:45 pm for tennis games, 6:00 - 6:15 pm for food.
Venue: Buckeye tennis complex.
Dress code: Tennis whites (but not necessary).
Bring your own place settings and beverages.
