RTC Board Meeting January 16, 2017
Meeting Minutes

President - Ron Wyman

• Approval of minutes from December 2016 board meeting.
• Bernie Wolf and Les Hoskyns were not in atRon asked the Board to consider ways to improve the relationship between the general tennis population and the Tennis Club on Drop-In Tennis days, Tuesday and Thursday.   He would like to discuss this in full at the next meeting and have the board come up with a clear understanding of Drop-In Tennis rules.tendance.
• Ron will be meeting with Jeff Matheson of GRF to see what the GRF has budgeted for the Tennis Club for 2017.

Vice President - Bernie Wolf

• No report

Secretary - Les Hoskyns

• 2017 Membership Directory will be produced much the same as previous 5 years.
• In Les’s absence Ron indicated that Friday, January 20th will be the finalization of the membership roster for the directory.
• A Membership Directory mailing party will be held on January 30th.
• An effort to find publishing alternatives for the 2018 and future Membership Directories was discussed.

Treasurer - Barbara Schwartz

• 2017 Budget presented and approved
• Barbara presented the proposed 2017 budget.   As it is not a balanced budget, expenses for the year will have to be watched closely.   There is a reserve carry over from 2016 to help offset the deficit.   The board approved the budget.

Tournaments - Bob McGowan

• Bob announced the Wild Card Tournaments are covered through June 2017.

Social - Carol Pillsbury

• Carol announced the flyers have been posted for the Valentine’s Party on February 11.        Plans are underway for the Kentucky Derby.         It was the consensus of the Board to open the Kentucky Derby to the general public with a limit on the attendance.

Membership - Larry Fredricks

• Larry reported current membership to be at 192, down 50 from last year.
• A membership renewal telephone project will again be needed for 2017.

Facilities - Rolf Kvalvik

• Rolf reported there are noticeable cracks on courts 1 and 4.   Several downed windscreens and downed signage on court 4 have been reported to GRF.

Publicity - Joan Warner

• Joan will do and submit tennis articles and pictures to Rossmoor News
• Ron and Bernie will do the same for the website.
• Joan Warner will submit information and news to the Rossmoor News.
• Ron Wyman and Bernie Wolf will do the same for the RTC Website.
