RTC General Meeting
March 16,2015 --- Meeting Minutes:

• President Mark Patterson called the meeting of the Rossmoor Tennis Club to order at 1:40PM on Monday March 16, 2015 at the Creekside Club House.

Present:

• Mark Patterson, Barbara Schwartz, Loc Barnes, Ron Wyman , Bill Sederowitz and Susanne Eldridge. About 25 members of the club were also present.
• Absent: Barbara Phillips, Randy Kuhl and Rolf Kvalvik.

President:

• Mark Patterson asked for the minutes of February Board Meeting to be approved, Barbara Schwartz moved and Bill Sederowitz seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.

Court Engineer/Supplies:

• Bill Sederowitz brought items from the 'Lost and Found' so the membership could retrieve their lost items. Items not retrieved will be donated to charity.
• Golf carts should now be parked on the gravel area prepared for us by GRF across the path from the big oak tree. The golf course management has asked that we no longer park on the south side of the path under the tree, because that area is in bounds on the golf course, and therefore in play for golf balls.

RTC Information Technology Committee:

• There was a request for a show of hands for those who have visited/used the RTC website, and approximately 80% of those in attendance raised their hands.
• After the General Board Meeting an informal meeting will be held for those with questions about the website.
• Mark Patterson introduced Les Hoskyns to talk about the club's website, which was met with applause from the membership.
• Les talked about the club's history being absent from the site.
• Kerin Baker has stacks and stacks of pictures to be sorted through, about 200 to 250 pictures to be chosen for the website.
• The president was asking the membership for volunteers to help with captions for the pictures.

Tournaments:

• Randy Kuhl and Rolf Kvalvik are absent.
• The next tournament is on March 21st, when the Round Hill Country Club Tennis Club will visit Rossmoor. 8:30 is warm-up and play starts at 9:00am. Lunch will follow at the social area at Buckeye Center. Round Hill CC has trouble fielding mixed doubles teams, so an idea was introduced. We have many women signed up, so perhaps they could/would play with Round Hill players as a social match, and therefore allow more players to play.
• On April 18th, the Villages of San Jose will visit Rossmoor. Two players from the Villages would like to stay and play golf. We are looking for a RTC volunteer host to make a tee time and play with them.

Wild Card:

• Barbara Phillips is absent. Check out Rossmoor News and the website for details.

Secretary:

• Susanne Eldridge nothing to report.

Treasurer:

• Barbara Schwartz shows a checking account balance as of 3/11/15 to be $10,291.35.

Vice President/Trophies Report:

• Randy Kuhl absent.
• Round Hill CC not interested in a traveling trophy.

Publicity:

• Ron Wyman is getting more space for his articles and space for more pictures. Maybe soon a whole page?

Facilities and Maintenance:

• Jerry McConnell absent.

Sunshine:

• Nancy McConnell absent. 
• Long time member Ed Perry recently passed away. Condolences were extended to Marcia.

Social:

• Loc Barnes and Mary Kay McClure are working on the Spring Fling coming up on April 18, 2015. They have 4 amazing secrets, but still looking for someone to operate the sound system. Any volunteers?

Membership and Reservations:

• Joyce Niebur absent but advised the board that we now have 231 members.
• Mark Patterson advised that we have a few extra Membership Directories. If you need an extra directory, the cost is $5.00 each.

Old Business:

• The Beverage Subcommittee-Paul Holland, Randy Kuhl, Fred Barnes and Dick Normington- recommend we reinstate the policy to serve hard liquor at selected RTC events.

New Business:

• Lenny Cook took Board Member photos to be posted on the website.
• The Buckeye BALL team won their last match and finish the season as number ONE in their division.

 The next Board meeting will be held on Monday April 20, 2015 in the Ivy Room at Dollar Clubhouse.

The meeting was adjourned at 2 pm.
