RTC Board Meeting June 19, 2017
Meeting Minutes

President - Ron Wyman

• Minutes of the previous board meeting were approved
• Update on new format of our Wednesday Clinic and Eugene Ovalle's tennis instruction component of the clinic was discussed.   Carol will ask gay White to help her promote this ongoing event.
• Scheduling conflict on July 15, 2017 between our regular Saturday Summer BBQ and our (annual) 2017 Summer Picnic was resolved by cancelling the July 15th iteration of the Summer BBQ in lieu of the annual 2017 Summer Picnic.

Vice President - Bernie Wolf

• Bernie will work with Rolf and others to update the narrative and photos on the website Facilities page.   A separate facilities administrative page will be added to the website to accommodate the day-to-day details involved in maintaining our facilities.

Secretary - Les Hoskyns

• The RTC Technology Committee (Les Hoskyns, Randy Kuhl, Ron Wyman, Mark Patterson, Bernie Wolf, and Chris Slee) has completed Website Revision #3.
• A blast email to the membership with links to new website features will be sent out after some last-minute tweaking.

Treasurer - Barbara Schwartz

• Barbara’s financial report
• Guidelines for reimbursements were discussed.   The board agreed to better document our requirement that reimbursement requests be accompanied by invoices / receipts from vendors.   The club's reimbursement request form has been modified to reflect this clarification.

Tournaments - Bob McGowan

• Tournament updates
• Organizing our “Ball Machine Clinic” on Court 2 was discussed.   Bob, Ron, and Bernie will work on this to determine the best time and day for it and seek experienced players to help run it on a rotating basis.
• We will be using the September 2 Wild Card Tournament for our participation in the Rossmoor Games.  We will need to coordinate with Kent Croswell, the Rossmoor Games coordinator, who will promote the event and provide prizes.   Check with Kent to see if we can get 6 prizes.

Social - Carol Pillsbury

• Carol’s social report.   Discussion of July 15th Summer Picnic.   New members will be welcomed at this event.
• Follow up discussion on planning for an RTC Cocktail Party in September / October.   This event has focused on welcoming new members in past years.   The Membership Outreach Committee will be asked help with this event's program.   Discussion focused on whether or not to cancel this event.   Carol will continue look into the possibility of doing the New Members Cocktail Party.
• We need to reserve a date and venue (hopefully the Dollar Patio) for this event.

Membership - Larry Fredricks

• Larry’s membership report

Facilities - Rolf Kvalvik

• Rolf’s report included need for additional bag hooks.   New locker lock and first aid kit have been purchased.

Publicity - Joan Warner

• Joan’s report focused on promoting upcoming events in the Rossmoor News articles.
