Welcome to the Rossmoor Tennis Club (RTC)

Purposes: (From the Rossmoor Tennis Club By-Laws)

Promote good sportsmanship and fellowship among its members and maintain and foster the best interests of the game of tennis.   Promote and govern interclub and intra-club tournaments as well as other Club-sponsored events.   This Club is guided by the recommended procedures of the United States Tennis Association. Organize occasional social events for members.

RTC Tennis at Rossmoor

Rossmoor tennis courts are owned and maintained by the Golden Rain Foundation (GRF).    All Rossmoor residents and their guests are entitled to use the courts in accordance with rules recommended by the Rossmoor Tennis Club and approved by the GRF Board of Directors.    Rules are posted in the Tennis Shack at the Buckeye Tennis Complex.    Copies may be obtained from the Recreation Department office in Gateway.

Rossmoor residents are eligible to apply for membership in the tennis club, and as members, may participate in club tournaments and various social events scheduled throughout the year.  No new non-resident member applications are being accepted, but for now the two current non-resident members may still renew membership at a higher rate. Please note the two current non-resident members are entitled to, and subject to, the same membership privileges and rules as any resident member.

Annual dues, paid by January 1st, are just $30.00 per person. The two grandfathered Non-Rossmoor resident current members pay $100.00 per person.    An optional fee of $35 per year allows use of the ball machine located on Court 2 at the Buckeye tennis Complex .    The club's funds are used to partially defray certain expenses in connection with the maintenance of the courts, as well as other costs related to the club-sponsored tournaments and social events.

The Rossmoor Tennis Club 2024 annual Directory was mailed to the membership in late January.  Members joining the Club after January 1, 2024 will be included in the Members directory on the Club's new website and on the associated phone app. The Members directory is updated continuously throughout the year.    

The business and social affairs of the club are conducted by the Board of Directors, consisting of nine members, three of whom are elected every year for a term of three years.    Board Members are limited to two successive terms.    Officers of the club are elected by the Board.

RTC Organization

The business and social affairs of the club are governed by our By Laws and administered by a nine-member Board.  The Board meets once a month on the third Monday to conduct its business. Three "General Membership" meetings are held in March, July, and November for all club members each year. Members are welcome at any Board meeting, but these three General membership meetings give all club members an opportunity to participate in the decision-making pertaining to the club's activities and in the election of new Board of Director members at the November meeting.
