President:

Vice President Randy Kuhl  called the meeting to order at 1:32pm at the Ivy Room at Stanley Dollar Club House.

  • The General Board Meeting minutes of July 20th were approved.
  • The RTC Information Technology Committee met last week to discuss photo capture, history, privacy, and some changes the website.
  • Approximately 500 (mostly historical) photos will be scanned and added to a photo library.   Many of the photos will be included on the history page of RTC website.    All photos scanned will be permanently stored in the club's photo library.   This task will be concluded by the next board meeting in September.   A brief 'show and tell' will be presented to the board at that time.    The website will soon be modified to make it function better on tablets and smartphones.    A one-time budget allocation of no more than $500.00 for this project to cover software, services, and supplies was approved.
  • Kerin Baker has completed the text part of the website RTC History project.
  • RTC member internet privacy and security was discussed.    The board reaffirmed our policy of NOT putting members e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses on the website.

Court Engineer/Supplies:

  • Ball machine purchase is still an issue. Wes Henderson and Rich Racimora wish  to arrange a demonstration of the Playmate Ace.   We have not yet been advised of time, date, and place for the demonstration.    The cost of the ball machine is an issue as well as raising the fee to use the machine.    No decision has yet been made.
  • Dave Sperry will help with replacing the shelves in the cabinets under the sink area at Buckeye social area with stronger materials.

Tournament Director

Rolf Kvalvik reported on past and future tournaments:

  • Women's doubles tournament was a big success with a lot of close results.

Secretary:

  • Susanne Eldridge has nothing to report.

  • Large deposit for the 2015 December Holiday Party is contributing to the low checking account balance.
