- Treasurer's Reports activity with healthy balance of approximately $13,300. Motion to approve report, seconded, Approved
Tournaments - Chris Slee
- July Wild card was full at 24 players and a great time for all. Thanked volunteers for help.
- Updated court schedule and tournaments calendar at the kiosk and on website. Passed volunteer request to club members present, explained the available hosting directions easy to follow
Social - David Hickey
- Request helpers for new members party July 21 5pm
- Summer games Saturday July 31 at 6 PM, Passed volunteer request to club members present
- The Love Boat Saturday August 21 at 6 PM being hosted by Linda Spiegelman
- Christmas Party Thursday December 16 at 5PM at Fireside room being organized
- Social calendar posted at the kiosk
Membership - Terry Quinlan
- New Membership in 2019 was 22; in 2020 -16; in 2021 - 38 new members! 240 members total in RTC!
- New Member Social has a response of over 46 + 12 board members and significant others.
Facilities - Jerry Quinlan
- Rule and Memorial Signage have been placed on court 1
- Ball Machine rules updated and posted at kiosk...65 paid members: first come, first serve, paid BM members only
- New net cords on 1 & 2
- Patching of courts not scheduled yet
- Sign on BM to fill just below rim as too many balls puts weight on the motor.
- Revisit shade awnings on courts, bids under discussion
Publicity - Amy Bollinger
- Discussed goals of current representation, articles in news keeping the club in a positive exposure. Doing a fantastic job!
Information Technology - Chris Slee
- Updated various software packages, resolved issue with new member notifications
Old Business
- Tennis Programs Reports:
- Women's BALL Team to be captained by Yvonne Merrick and Laura Townsend. Laura gave bio of Yvonne and explained new super senior team format, 22 sign ups so far
- Tennis Clinics - Eugene Ovalle gave recap of his clinics. great attendance
- Ball Machine Clinic - Sherry Endicott discussed clinic (would like to extend time 11-12:30) and her background in tennis
- Men's SMIL Team - Dave Kern discussed mens teams format
- Drop-In Tennis discussed by Quinlans as great way to practice and meet other members. Tuesdays 9:00
New Business
- Aspen Tree at Barbara Schwartz bench should be moved over for growth space. Already reached canopy of oak above. Larry will talk to landscape and request it be moved
- Member suggested adding a second bench on courts
- Lenny Cook discussed successful turnouts of Saturday BBQ. Need additional cooks, replaced propane and should submit to GRF
- Question of visiting club tournaments. Villages 10/23 away confirmed; Orinda Woods 9/26 home not confirm; Rio vista cancel
- Discussed Backboard replacement due to complaint
- Al Peters presided over raffle for attending members. Wine, hats, magazine subscriptions were awarded
