The Rossmoor Women’s 50+A1 team squeaked out a win against the Bay Club Crow Canyon Team on Friday, October 25th. The match was delayed over an hour because of a fatal accident on 680.  It took 1.5 hours for two of their players to arrive at Rossmoor, but fortunately Rossmoor came away with a 5-4 win.

Line 1 provided the day's most dramatic tennis, with Rossmoor's Becky Reiss and Terry Quinlan battling through a grueling two-setter plus 10 point tie break against skilled opponents. The home pair ultimately prevailed winning the tiebreak

On Line 2, Yvonne Merrick and Mary Benin faced equally challenging competition against experienced 4.0 players from Bay Club's 50+ A1 team.  Despite falling short in a tight 6-4 second set, the Rossmoor duo earned praise for their determined performance against such high-caliber opposition.

Unfortunately, The Crow Canyon team had to default Line 3 .

"The level of tennis today was exceptional," noted team captain Mary Benin. "Both teams showed tremendous sportsmanship, especially considering the difficult circumstances surrounding the match's start."

On September 16, eight members of the Rossmoor women's 50+ B one team won their first match of the season beating Diablo country club 10 to 2

On a beautiful morning at 8 am Thursday Sept 30, 2021 the designated 8 team players assembled at the Gateway parking lot to carpool the distance to play against the Fremont Tennis Center Super Seniors team. Thank you to Yvonne Merrick, Terry Quinlan and Mary Jane Kiefer for driving and Linda Hague for navigating.  The team arrived in Fremont well ahead of the scheduled play time and were able to get a good warm up prior to match time.

The Fremont ladies were very warm and friendly and a good time was had by all.  Thank you to the team members who arose early and who played so well.

The Oaks team hosted Walnut Creek on February 3.  Despite a strong win the previous match and best efforts all round they were defeated.

The Oaks traveled to Chabot Tennis Club on Jan 27. The team is pictured relaxing before the match.  The Oaks were the victors, 8-4, over their Chabot opponents.
