RTC Information
The Rossmoor Tennis Club (RTC) will make extensive use of the free Google information services. Use of these services offers a number of advantages.

Information is available at all times to a wide variety of individuals as determined by the club's management.
Multiple people can work together or separately on information without any duplication or concern for computer platforms, software versions
All that is needed is a computer with an internet connection and a modern browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer)
Information is no longer trapped or compartmentalized in individuals' computers
The services are all free-of-charge

Gmail --- Google Mail

The Gmail account is controlled by the President
The Gmail account is primarily used to communicate OUTWARD to the club's membership.
(At Least initially) the club's membership will be strongly discouraged from "replying" to broadcast emails (via a 'signature' that asks for 'no replies please)
The ‘contacts’ section of the Gmail account is the basis for the annual printed directory. Any and all listings, spreadsheets, compilations, etc will be developed by ‘exporting’ from the entire set of contacts, or

Google Drive

A directory is established for each of the primary users of the account (at present, Pauline, Joyce, and Les)
Any information that deals with the club’s business should reside on this “drive”
At least one copy of the club’s files is backed up on someone’s home computer.

Google Calendar

Initially managed by the RTC club president
Initial calendars are:
Regularly scheduled events
Board business and meetings
Later possible uses are
Regularly scheduled private matches
Tournament information

Google Sites --- the RTC web-site

Used as a working tool of the RTC board members
Linked to the RTC Calendar


Linked to the RTC Directory
Linked to various working documents. This allows one to monitor the progress others are making when developing flyers, sign-up sheets, etc.
