Sep 21, 2015 --- Meeting Minutes:

 Present

  • Mark Patterson, Randy Kuhl, Bill Sederowitz, Barbara Schwartz, Loc Barnes, Rolf Kvalvik, Ron Wyman, Joyce Niebur and Susanne Eldridge

Guests:

  • Marcia Perry, Jerry McConnell and Les Hoskyns

Absent:

  • Barbara Phillips

President

  • Mark Patterson called the meeting to order at 1:30pm in the Ivy Room at Stanley Dollar Clubhouse.
  • The August Meeting Minutes need an addendum to show Treasures Report as follows:
  • Due to very slow reception of reimbursement requests a 4 (four) months deadline will be instituted for reimbursements.    Randy Kuhl motioned and Bill Sederowitz second.
  • December reimbursement requests should be received before the end of the year.

RTC Information Technology Committee --- Randy Kuhl / Les Hoskyns

  • Les Hoskyns reported that over 500 photos have been scanned and organized within Google Photos.   These photos will soon be added to the website.
  • The hard copies of photos and scrap book contents will be filed into appropriate storage boxes.   A permanent  storage area for the boxes will be needed.   The project is under budget.
  •  RTC is looking for volunteers for membership director and printed directory.   The two functions are technologically related to each other.

Court Engineer/Supplies:

  • As of October 1, 2015 the Creekside courts will no longer be available for tennis.    Jerry McConnell, Mark Patterson, and Les Hoskyns will relocate the storage locker and its contents onto Court 1 at Buckeye.
  • The ball machine will be located in the shed of Court 2.   We will need a new lock mechanism for that shed.   The present lock will be left unlocked and some kind of combination lock will be installed.   Guidelines for the use of the ball machine at Buckeye will be forthcoming.   The purchase of a new ball machine was discussed again at length.    No funds will be available until early next year.

 Tournaments- Rolf Kvalvik

  •  The Trilogy Inter-club Tournament took place at Rio Vista.  Unfortunately Rossmoor had to leave the plaque with them.
  • The Men's Doubles Tournament had a few hiccups; 3 persons didn't show, so the director had to hassle in the last minutes.
  •  The Mixed Doubles Tournament will take place on September 26 and has plenty of sign ups and some subs.
  • Entry form for the Calcutta Tournament is available on line and at the Buckeye kiosk. Last year's event was a lot of fun so sign up early.
  • The New Member Tournament that was rained out in April, will not be rescheduled.

Wild Card - Barbara Phillips

  • The September 5 Wild Card Tournament will be considered part of the Rossmoor Games.
  • Next Wild Card will take place on October 3, 2015.

Secretary Report - Susanne Eldridge

  • No report.

Treasurer - Barbara Schwartz

  • Check book balance as of September 21, 2015 is $7356.18.
  • Barbara is still looking for reimbursement requests for some past events.

Publicity - Ron Wyman

  • The articles/reports on past and future events for the Rossmoor News are going smoothly.

Social  - Loc Barnes

  • Sneakers and Spikes went well. RTC is $230.00 ahead on the event.
  • The Summer Saturday BBQs are over for the year.
  • There was some preliminary discussion about the Holiday Party.

Membership and Reservations - Joyce Niebur

  • Joyce reminded the board that the position of Membership Director needs to be filled for 2016, and a new directory volunteer is also needed for the coming year.

Maintenance - Jerry McConnell

  • Les Hoskyns, Mark Patterson, and Jerry McConnell will move and reassemble the equipment.

Sunshine - Nancy McConnell

  • No report.

New Business

  • A nominating committee will be formed and potential new board members will be considered.
  • The positions of Vice President, Secretary and Court Engineer need to be filled for 2016, as well as Membership Chair.

Next Board Meeting - October 19, 2016 in the Ivy Room at Stanley Dollar Club House.
