NOVEMBER 2025 RTC GENERAL MEETING  MINUTES

  • President - Emily Van Vleet
    • The meeting was called to order at 1:34 p.m. 
    • Absent from the Board was Laura Townsend and Barbara Landberg
    • 33 members were present 
    • The October  2025 Board Meeting minutes were approved
  • Members Forum - 
    • Lenny Cook announced that Chris Bang has a serious case of cancer.
    • Terry Quinlan requested the acquisition of a wind sock to gauge wind speed
    • Wind screens are due for removal soon
  • Vice President - Mary Benin 
    • Discussed new features of our website consisting of a portion for non-members to use, with the second section for RTC members.  These changes will streamline searching and reduce the number of clicks .
    • A request was made for members to submit a sentence best describing the site.
  • Treasurer - Bart Ostro
    • Checking account balance is $13,815. YTD Income is $10,250 ($1,680 under budget). YTD expenses are $5,634 (over $6,700 under budget)
    • Ball Machine fees will be reduced from $35 to $20
    • Bart is researching the installation of a video camera on the courts.


  • Tournaments - Richard Schulman
    • Various tournament formats were discussed
    • Since tournaments are open to all Rossmoor residents, it was decided to place a notice in the Rossmoor News of upcoming tournaments.

Social - Laura Townsend (absent)

  • Emily announced that the Christmas Party will be December 15 with a cost of $25 per person.  She also explained that the club was able to offer such a reasonable fee due various reasons such as the club’s new status as a 501c-3,  as well as Laura’s ability to keep expenses down
  • Membership - Lori Davis
    • Lori announced that Membership is up to 214 and introduced 2 new members:  John Radebold and Chris Wong
  • Facilities - David Hickey
    • Discussion about battery operated leaf blowers.
  • Publicity - Linda Hague
    • Linda suggested that those members who are not receiving the monthly newsletter should check their spam folders and verify the club has the proper email address.
  • Unfinished Business -
    • Emily announced the new board members, as follows:
    • Bert Sebilia will be V.P.
    • Shrey Trivedi will be the Social Chair
    • Roger Emanuel will take the Publicity Chair, sharing responsibilities with Linda Hague until mid-2026
  • Emily announced that the Planning Committee has agreed to $30,000 for repairs on Courts 7 & 8. The decision is not yet finalized, but it is anticipated that the funds will be available as a Priority 4B in 2026, after subsequent committees are in agreement.
  • Discussion of the club providing a charitable contribution to the Rossmoor Fund.  

. Raffle was held with small prizes given out to ticket winners.

The Meeting was adjourned at 2:35 p.m.
