  •  August 2025 Board meeting minutes were approved
  • card was sent to Marcia Liberson who had knee replacement

Treasurer - Bart Ostro

  • As of Sept 12, our current checking balance is $13.7K which is $4.92K above the January opening balance. The major expenses for the last month were for food for Saturday BBQs and for matches and a payment to GRF for lockers.   Revenues increased by $110 due to 5 half-year memberships and 2 half-year ball machine fees.

  • Tournaments - Richard Schulman

  • Richard was complimented for running successful tournaments
  • Upcoming tournaments include Wild Card Ladder Mixed Doubles on Oct 4, Villages Away Tournament on Oct 18, and Wild Card Ladies Doubles Ladder Format on November 1

Social - Laura Townsend

  • Over 60 people attended the last BBQ (when there is free food and drink people show up)
  • Update on status of October new members party
  • first reminders were sent out to about 45 people
  • need for personal phone calls to follow up after second or third reminders go out
  • Barbara offered to help make phone calls around Sept. 28th to people who have not responded.
  • Laura will need to know the numbers in order to have food and drinks purchased

Membership - Lori Davis

  •  Absent - no report

Facilities - David Hickey

  • Updated protocol for ball machine users posted in kiosk and on the  door of the ball machine door and emailed to ball machine members
  • There have been some grand kids on the ball machine court and that is NOT allowed
  • The ball machine is strictly for about 90 MEMBERS who have paid extra
  •  Small rips in the sun screen shades will be repaired under warranty.
  • The sun shades on courts 3, 5 and 6 have been removed. for repair
  • A ball hopper was placed on court 7 again.

Publicity - Linda Hague

  • Absent -No report

Old Business

  • Board voted to adopt amended court usage rules given court 7 & 8 rough surfaces
  •  Al Peters and his committee consisting of Larry Barclay and Terry Quinlan are working on filling Board positions

New Business

  • Consideration of 2026 fees for membership - tennis and/or tennis and ball machine
  • Emily requested suggestions for service awards honors
  • David suggested that usage of courts by men or women’s teams before 10 should require board approval commencing next year
  • David suggested that starting in  2026 we reduce the ball machine fee from $35.to $15.
  • A new iSmash Ball Machine will cost about $7,000. including sales tax and shipping and with 90 members we would have more than enough to pay for the next machine which should last for about 10 years. With a ball machine membership of 90 members if they pay $15. each we would have $1350 per year or $13,500 over the 10 year period.
