Tournaments - Richard Schulman

  • 2025 Schedule of proposed tournaments  was presented -
  • Many of the Wild Card tournaments will be Ladder Tournaments which will be simpler to run. Note the Wild Card tournaments on the first Saturdays of the month  are open to all residents so non members can sign up to play
  • Richard will update the website to include the 2025 Tournaments schedule
  • The Villages would like to continue with 2 interclub tournaments --April and October

Social - Laura Townsend

  • Holiday Party very popular with 106 people signed up and paid
  • Linda Spiegelman will be in charge of Summer BBQs  
  • Laura proposed that we not have the Crab Fest this year since so many people said they do not like crab. Since the numbers were way down with the 2024  February Party, Laura proposed that we switch to a different theme --perhaps a Game Night

Membership - Terry Quinlan

  • 100 members renewed; 116 current members not renewed
  • BM: 37 members renewed; 49 current users not renewed
  • Since there will not be a printed directory in 2025, it is important that members download the app on their phones in order to have a member directory.

Facilities - David Hickey

  • A new leaf blower was purchased and with a long connector cord it can be used for 2 courts at a time
  • If the courts are wet the leaf blower should NOT be used

Publicity - Linda Hague

  • In the next Newsletter please suggest that people download the RTC app on their phones so they can access member directory

Information Technology - Chris Slee

  • It is requested that Chris add links about the Ball Machine on the website

Old Business

  • Room Reservations for Clubs- Update Since there are no set up requirements we will not be charged for the use of the Bunker Room for monthly meetings.
  • Report on 2025 proposed GRF Capital projects funding - there is no money in the 2025 Budget for courts 7 and 8
  • The Board voted for a $250 contribution to The Rossmoor Fund for 2024

New Business

  • We discussed options for future 2025 social events to ensure compliance with the CA ABC regulations . At Summer BBQs we will be able to serve alcohol since we do not charge, and if we hire a caterer with an ABC Type 58  liquor license we can charge a fee and serve drinks at other parties. Emily is investigating having the RTC file with the IRS to qualify as a tax-exempt non-profit under section 501(c)-  either (subsection (3) or (7) 
  • Update on amending RTC Board authorized signatories for bank account 2025 -Emily, Bart, and Barbara will need to sign papers at the Mechanics Bank 
  • Next Meeting: January 20, 2025
