President -  Emily Van Vleet 

  • Call to order
  •  Richard Schulman & Chris Slee not present
  • Approval of minutes

Vice President - Mary Benin

  • Discussion of wind screens --if we cut below the grommets and hem the top of the bottom piece to make them 1&1/2 inches shorter it would allow air to pass through and dry the courts faster
  • GRF not willing to take them down and put them back up
  • Laura suggested we leave them as half screens all the time

Secretary - Barbara Landberg

  • A condolence card will be sent to Dave Corliss and family on the passing of Judy Corliss

Treasurer - Ken Steiner

  • Our bank balance is aabout $16,660. $500. more than estimated came in on line.

  •  Tournaments - Richard Schulman

  • The Wild Card Tournament is Saturday, Feb. 3rd and so far 3 men and 8 women have signed up
  • Captains can e mail teams to encourage them to sign up
  • Becky or Richard could print a poster to put at the kiosk reminding people to sign up

Social - Laura Townsend

  • Last year the Crab Fest was extremely successful and we charged $35. each and people brought food. 
  • This year it will be $40. each with people not bringing food and only 1 guest will be allowed per member.
  • People will be asked to RSVP for Barbeques on the website.

Membership - Terry Quinlan

  • As of 1/1/24 we have 179 paid members with 1 new member
  • Ball Machine has 69 signups with 5 new ones

Facilities - Aric Ludwig

  • We need to find a replacement for Aric since he will be away for about 6 months. 
  • An e mail blast should be sent asking for a facilities manager
  • There is a broken broom and 8 roller sponges need replacing (GRF owns them and is responsible for replacing them)
  • Aric replaced the clicker on the ball machine and repaired the net on court 5
  • Aric also replaced cracked plastic boxes of tennis balls.
  • A letter to GRF needs to be written asking  for brooms and roller sponges and also straw barriers (called wattles) around the ball machine shed to keep tennis balls from getting wet when it rains.
  • Laura said that several clubs have heavy contraptions with roller rags that dry courts efficiently 
  • The machines are heavy and expensive (about $2,000)  but maybe a future request

Publicity - Linda Hague

  • Since a couple of people were not present, Linda will wait to take a picture of the new Board for newspaper and website
  • Completion of bulletin board at Gateway --it is past the Sewing Studio
  • Issues surrounding non resident guests were discussed and Emily will post the rules at the kiosk --2 non resident guests are allowed on a court with Rossmoor residents

Information Technology - Chris Slee

  • Conducted training sessions for the board. Great job!

  • Dave Blanchard could assist people have difficulty with the website.

Old Business

  • Soliciting volunteer leader(s) for Friday Ball Machine Clinic 

New Business

A clean up party needs to be scheduled to wash down and clean the kiosk, supply cabinets, and lost and found areas.
