President - Al Peters >> Emily Van Vleet 

  • The meeting was called to order at 1:30
  • Roll call  all board members present except Laura who was busy working on the Party
  • Approval of minutes
  • After two and a half years, Sherry Edicott will no longer be doing the ball clinics 
  • Barbara will send a thank you note for her outstanding service
  • Neil Fiori and Bill Schwartz can continue if they wish
  • We are grateful for the anonymous donor who paid for sunshades on courts 1,3, and 5
  • At the Holiday party Al will recognize the former  members who have passed away-- 
  • Margaret Logwood, Angie Dometrovich, Eleanor Bang, Ralph Parton, Shin Kim,  Colleen Scully, Barbara Schwartz, Joan Warner, & Laurel Strand
  • Board members were asked to write down 2 things that are true and 1 that is not true about themselves for the Party
  • Awards to outstanding volunteers -- Mary Kay

Vice President - Emily Van Vleet >> Mary Benin

  • Reminder of 2024 Calendar Board meetings on the 3rd Monday of every month and general meetings for all in March, July, and November

Secretary - Barbara Landberg

Treasurer - Ken Steiner

  • Monthly report as of 12/17/2023
  • 2024 Proposed Budget estimates that we will spend about $1000 more than we take in
  • It is estimated that we will have $8,600 at the end of the year and about $7,600. at the end of 2024
  • Next year we plan to charge for the Holiday Party and the Crab Fest

Tournaments - Ike Ichikawa >> Richard Schulman

  • Richard thanked Larry, Al, Ike, and Takako for helping with the tournaments
  • Buying Penn balls in bulk is a saving
  • RTC authorized Richard to buy a printer since he will need one for running tournaments

  • Renewals -- as of 12/15, 118 Renewed, 107 Outstanding
  • Ball Machine 40

Facilities - Jerry Quinlan >> Aric Ludwig

  • Court Usage for November was about 1352--most days 52 - 55 players

Publicity - Linda Hague

  • We have had some good articles in the newspaper and Linda was grateful for Mary Benin and Roger Emanuel for sending articles all written.
  • Adding to a blog, summary news articles RENAME BY DATE

Information Technology - Chris Slee

  • Old RossmoorTennis.com has been scaled back, renewed for one year, just in case

  • Summary of transition to RTC Wild Apricot

    • Members were all transferred. As of 12/8, 136 logged in, about 90 have not
    • Renewals -- tested with 10, 1st reminder 12/3, 2nd reminder 12/17
    • About 85% of old content transferred
    • Old history transferred, working on pre 2020 images
    • Richard Schulman, Dave Blanchard, Judy Simon were very helpful
  • Holiday party -- 120+ Registrations, almost all self registered online, about 10 with issues, coaching. Set up new spreadsheet to print labels for events (works for future events)

New Business

  • 3 training sessions for using Wild Apricot--The Board, Publicity, Events
  • January 3rd will be the first training session for the Board at 3:00 at Chris Slee's house--

  • Emily and Al will work on getting the calendar on the website
  • Chris had a conversation with Bart Ostro about having a Walk-In Clinic in the Redwood Room for help with Wild Apricot when people bring their phone & password.
  • Think about using display cases in Gateway
